Banarasi silk emerges from the ancient weaving workshops of Varanasi — a city where the art of the loom is as old as the Ganges herself. Characterised by its intricate zari work, brocade patterns, and a supple, heavy drape, Banarasi silk has adorned Indian brides for centuries and carries a GI tag as a mark of its authenticity.
The Floral Jaal running through this piece is a weave pattern of remarkable intricacy — a design that requires exceptional skill to execute and creates a visual effect that is entirely distinctive.
Zardozi — the imperial embroidery of Mughal courts — is worked entirely by hand using heavy gold and silver threads, metal sequins, and precious stones.
